P3 Shell Roof (NS Beams)
Structure for arched concrete shell roofs whose beams run north to south, built for the low load capacity of these roofs.

Shell roofs, the arched concrete roofs common on mills and sheds, carry little extra load. P3 is designed for a low added load and follows the north to south beam direction. It is SS400 iron, hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A123 with a 90 micron coating, and is supplied galvanized only. Final loading is checked against the roof's capacity during design.

Common questions
What does NS beams mean?
The roof beams run north to south. P3 is engineered for that geometry, and roofs with east to west beams take the P2 shell roof structure.
Will this overload my existing shell roof?
The design targets a low added load on typical shell roofs. Final loading is verified against your roof's capacity during engineering, and a structural engineer should confirm that capacity.
How is this different from the EW beams version?
Beam direction changes the load path and the fixing details. Use P3 for north to south beams and P2 for east to west beams.
