Where they are used and what they are made of
Steel and corrugated sheet roofs take a flush mounted structure instead of a tilted frame. FERO aluminium railing holds the modules close to the roof sheet, keeps the added weight low and is designed to keep the roof watertight. There are two versions. The standing seam railing clamps onto the raised seam of the sheet. The non standing seam railing is for corrugated metal, fibreglass and similar profiles without a standing seam, with fixing details confirmed for each roof type.
Both are made from aluminium 6063 T5, anodized, with SS304 fasteners. Aluminium is light and does not rust, which suits roof sheets with limited capacity. The modules sit flush with the roof, so there is no inclination to set, and the standard design wind speed is 35 m/s (126 km/h), customized per project. Uplift at the edges and corners of a roof array is greater than in the middle, so the connections matter more than the main members.

Which railing do I need for my roof?
The standing seam version clamps onto roofs with a raised standing seam. Corrugated metal, fibreglass and other profiles without a standing seam take the non standing seam version.
Does the railing pierce the roof sheet?
The standing seam version clamps to the seam, so the sheet is not drilled. The non standing seam version is fixed to suit the profile, with details confirmed per roof so the roof stays watertight.
Can the railing hold the modules at a tilt?
No. Railing structures sit flush with the roof. For tilt on a flat concrete roof, use the L2 or L3 aluminium structures or an elevated shed.
